Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

I received a warrant in the mail with this Charge: POSS CS NARC OR COC LT25 Grams 333.74032A5 in Michigan. At no time have I been in possession of a controlled substance. I do not live in Michigan to appear in person to address this. I have a 5000$ surety bond. They say I can write a letter. In August I was getting a ride home from a friend and they were pulled over. There were drugs found in the car, a small amount of cocaine and marijuana in the front seat and in bags in the back that belonged to the owner of the car. I was in the backseat and was not in possession of anything.

You will likely not be able to handle this without appearing in Michigan. You may be able to hire a Michigan attorney for the purpose of discussing the case with the prosecutor and convincing them to dismiss. However, that is highly unlikely to succeed. Until this is taken care of, you'll have a warrant for your arrest and may be arrested at a traffic stop in your state even if Michigan won't expedite. I suggest hiring a Michigan attorney and find a way to come to Michigan and take care of this.
