Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

(Southfield, MI)My fiance just recently went to jail on a warrant due to an argument that he and i had on thanksgiving. A friend of mine at the time called the police after my fiance left the premises and complained about our argument. when the police arrived there were items thrown on the floor and a few blood spots on the wall where I assaulted him and made his nose bleed( I asked him to leave the home he wouldn't, no excuse for my actions). I told the police everything and told them that i was not willing to press charges and he and I have went our separate ways. since then the police have not contacted me but my fiance received a warrant for his arrest and later turned himself in. The whole entire thing is horrible we both feel really bad about the situation. the prosecutor pressed charges, without a statement or actual evidence from me. My fiance have had one other incident in the past where I called the police, because he stole my laptop and pushed me. My questions are..... will he do time in jail or just get a fine, this is his first offense? is there something I can do to help dismiss the case?
