Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

About a year ago I got a minor in possession while I was 18 and was put on probation for 8 months with a deferred judgement. I successfully competed probation and I was just wondering if since it was deferred, would this show up in a background check? I live in Michigan.

It will not show up on public background checks. It will only be available to the court system and law enforcement officers under certain circumstances. It can be viewed by law enforcement, Department of Corrections, and prosecutors if you are applying for a job.

No employer can find it except the federal government (selected security jobs) and, in some states, teachers.

Even if found, an MIP shouldn't affect your chances as it's the most common teenage "crime". Your judgment was actually never entered since you completed probation.
