Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Michigan

My husband is the highest seniority truck driver at his job and he's also the only African American at his job. Because he is highest in seniority on his job he is supposed to be the first 1 to be called into work yet he gets laid off and other drivers get to work. He also was denied a promotion of a new truck and all the other drivers were given new trucks except for him. Along with him being the youngest driver of the company he's also the lowest paid but he's also been there the longest. What should he do?

He should immediately file a claim with the EEOC (http://www.eeoc.gov/employees/howtofile.cfm) and with the MDCR (http://www.michigan.gov/mdcr/0,1607,7-138-42240_43561-153171--,00.html), then contact an attorney who handles employment discrimination claims. Most of us offer free consultations, and are often willing to handle claims like his on a contingent fee basis. I hope this helps. Take care.
