Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

I live in Michigan, my daughters father lives in Texas. She is due to be born in July, and I would like an idea of how custody will work in our situation. I have lived in Michigan my entire life minus July 2012- Jan 2013 in which I lived in Texas. All the information I can find is for older children, not newborns. I will be breast feeding her, we live in a clean stable home, with just my mother. I would just like a basic idea of how visitation would work for a newborn/infant when the parents live in different states? Thank you yo anyone that can help!

Generally, at the beginning, the child will be with the mother full time and the father will be granted visitation. As she gets older, the father will be able to be more involved. Down the road, he may get overnights and later, even trips to Texas. The mechanics will always be difficult.
