Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

If subpoened, does a wife have to testify against her husband?

My husband has been charged with domestic violence - the prosecutor has subpoened me to appear in court as a witness. I did not press charges against my husband. Do I have to appear in court? Do I have to testify?

If you received a subpoena by personal service and fail to appear, a bench warrant can be issued for your arrest.

Your husband may request consideration pursuant to MCL 769.4(a) which would dismiss the matter after no more than 1 year (and possibly a 26 week class).
