employee bank account #

Can an employer force an employee to give a bank account number for electronic deposit of a payroll check or is it an individuals choice to participate or not.

I don't think it's a matter of choice, if the employer has a process for dealing with all checks. You have a right to money earned, but question how long you'll be in your job if you can't or won't open a bank account to receive payment in a way convenient to your employer. I would try to negotiate with them to find out why they need to do it a certain way and what you can do to make sure that your own needs are met. Confrontation may not satisfy either of you.
