Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

quit claim deeds and my rights

I was engaged and purchased a home and I am the only person on the mortgage. My exfiance signed paperwork during closing that put her on the deed.I have made over 5 attempts 4 months to have her sign a quitclaim deed and she will not call me back. I don't know where she lives and I am moving and can't sell my home without her signing a quitclaim. Do I have any rights or options to do anything? I have also left her messages on her phone offering to negotiate a settlement. I have accepted a new position in Seattle Washington and have the home rented out for 2 years. How can I ever sell the house without her giving me an opportunity to at least negotiate some type of settlement? We lived together in the home for only 4 months. I am being held hostage due to her making sure I can't ever sell or even speak with her. Please help me in anyway you can? Thank you.

Re: quit claim deeds and my rights

You should see an attorney and let the attorney look at your documents in order to get the right answer. It is possible you can quiet title by filing the appropriate paperwork with the court and providing statutory notice to your former fiance.

Good luck.
