Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

expungement

i would like to get an offense expunged from my record for the sole reason that my fiance, soon to be wife is from canada and i can not see her family unless they come to me since my criminal activity makes me inadmissible to canada. I have a felony for 2nd degree burglary which was reduced to a misdemeanor. Is there any way that i can get this expunged or reduced to a theft charge to make it possible for me to travel to canada.

Re: expungement

If this is a MN offense and it was discharged over five years ago, you need to Petition to the Board of Pardons for a pardon extraordinary. Expungements are 100% worthless in this type of situation by order of the MN Court of Appeals. The Court of Appeals has ruled the BCA does not have to seal its records.

You can contact me and I will tell you more about this.
