Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

Months ago, my brother was pulled over for a traffic violation and gave my name instead of his because he doesn't have a license and didn't want his car to be searched. The officers wrote a ticket to me instead of him because they didn't verify his identity. I've lost hundreds of dollars from days of missed work due to the negligence of these officers. Is there a way for me to receive compensation from the city for this loss of income?
