Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

I recently got caught selling methamphetamine to an undercover cop. This will be my second drug charge. My first charge was for possession 44 months. I'm not on parole for that anymore. They are telling me that I'm facing 10yrs +. The amount that they caught me with was less than 10 grams. I was helping them out but I think that they are just going to screw me over anyways. So I'm just wondering if I'm really facing that much time and if its even worth it to work for them.

The answer depends on the charge. For a first degree offense, the presumptive (usual) sentence is over 12 years in prision. On a second offense, with a felony point for a prior, you could be looking at close to ten years as a presumptive sentence.

Certainly, you should not provide any statements or evidence to the police until you have counsel. Law enforcement cannot make plea deals and they can lie to you to seek your assistance. That assistance will not help and, ultimately, you wil be charged anyway.
