Child custody

I had a child before i was married and now am seperated from the childs father. We are not yet devorsed but how do i know if i can tell the father he can not have our son?

If he is adjudicated as the parent, he has as much right to have parenting time as you, altyhough enforceable rights must be established by a court order. If you deny a parent access to the child without a reasonable basis to do so, you may appear to be alienating that parent which can be an issue in any subsequent custody proceeding.
