Thank you for the post.

The matter is not so simple. A letter signing over rights would be completely ineffective. You must work through the social services department with the assistance of an attorney or, is social services is not involved, a lawyer would be required to draft the proper adoption papers.

Re: Please Help!

The notarized paper is not sufficient. There is a specific form that she will need to sign. Also, the adoption papers need to be filled out by you and we will need to go to court to finalize any adoption. Given that the children are in Foster Care, the county will need to approve the adoption. One other concern. Where is the father? He could certainly gain priority over you when it comes to raising the children. We need to be aware of his rights as well.
