Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

My dad recently took out 10,000 federal plus direct loan for me, However, he wants a document stating that I will be responsible repay the loan. Which document is appropriate for this situation?

I am afraid that the document will have no effect with regard to the rights of the creditor. If your father is a debtor or guarantor, the debt can be collected against him regardless of any agreement to repay the debt that you may have with im. However, you can certainly enter into an agreement with your father that is enforceable between the two of you as a promissory note.
