my son filed for divorce.her mom has worked for lawyers for yrs. as as a scretary & she is advising her daughter how to go for everything possible. is doing a discovery on my son cause he did some cash jobs. is that expensive?she is asking for him to pay her lawyer fees so she don't care how much it cost. she never gave nothing to their marriage finacially & now wants everything. even sole pysical custody. my son is a great kid & she is saying he is a alcoholic so they will give her sole custody. thats a lie.wouldn't she need proof?

Re: divorce

I just reviewed your question. It appears you are generally concerned about the involvement of your son's mother-in-law in his divorce proceeding. First, the fact that the mother-in-law is "advising" her daughter what to do in the divorce is not necessarily illegal, or unusual. The fact that your son's wife wants everything is also not unusual. Merely asking for "everything" does not mean she will get it. Your son's wife, like any other litigant, will have to produce some evidence in support of her claims. Finally, it makes no difference who earned the most money during the marriage. This is generally irrelevant in a divorce proceeding.

It sounds to me that your son needs a lawyer. If you have further questions or concerns, contact my office.
