My ex filed a dissolution of marriage what should i do next? i already recieve the notice. and the big problem is i am married to a new guy now coz i thought before my 1st marriage wasnt valid.

Hi! Well, you are going to have to find out if your first marriage was valid. If it was not you are going to have to have the petition dismissed. If it was you are going to have to address both issues. You have not (nor could you) post enough information on this site to get an answer that would provide you with all the relevant information you need.

You have a number of very delicate issues.

First, you can be charged criminally for bigamy f you remarried before you were divorced. The charge can be very serious.You would be wise to consult with any attorney

Second, if you were served divorce papers from the first spouse, you must file and serve a response within thirty days after being served with the Summons and Petitoin. If you do not, you may face a default where the other party can proceed as if the matter is uncontested.
