Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

the judge just signed my contempt motion and issued a order to show cause, my ex moved out of state and hasn't complied with order granting her to move. and we just hired a process server with luck she will get served. My question is if she gets properly served does she have to appear in person for the hearing? or can she do it by phone like in the child support court hearing? She hasn't even complied with the court appointed mediator he has sent a letter to the court saying he don't believe she will comply.

An Order to Show Cause would require her to appear at the hearing. However, it is often unenforceable if served in another state. However, there are remedies and you may seek a default order transferring custody which can be filed and enforced in the other state. You should certainly have experienced legal counsel.
