Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Is it legal for child support to increase 67% in one year? My son has joint custody of his child with his ex-wife. He has 40% parental time and she has 60% parental time. She makes $60,000 and is remarried filing a joint return and my son is not remarried and makes $47,000. They live in Minnesota. They are going to family court on April 1. What can he do to fight this increase? He cannot afford an attorney? At this time he has to pay her.

I suggest your son confer privately with an experienced attorney at this time so she may assist and advise him. Some of us, not all, may provide limited scope legal assistance to conserve legal fee in keeping with the client's financial resources.
