Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Help with Parental Rights

I just need answer to my question which no one can answer, and my question is: What steps do I take or what does it take to Sign-off/Terminate/Relinquish my parental rights? The reason I put sign-off/terminate/relinquish is due to the fact I've heard it all three ways, if someone would please tell me what it is that I need to do it would be greatly appreciated. I can explain in further detail why if requested. So if someone would please answer this question bluntly it would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance!

Re: Help with Parental Rights

It is quite simple, you can't. A parent cannot voluntarily terminate their parental rights.

The exception would be if there is another person willing to step in and take responsibility by adopting. This is usually done in the context of a Step parent adoption.
