Private road owners responseablities

On 7/1/2000 we had a A.T.V. accident on our road which is used by 40 cabin owners the road is maintained by volunter labor no county or state funds. now we are being sued. claiming a defect in the road caused the accident. drinking was involed.

All forty property owners should submit the claim to their property owner's insurance companies, and ask the plaintiff's lawyer for an extention to answer the complaint while the insurance companies decide what to do.

You all should consult with a lawyer ASAP too.

This claim is very much as if someone fell on the ice on the sidewalk in front of your house. Liability is probable providing there really was a defect.
