Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota

i bought a house on contract for deed. the man i bought it from stopped paying the bank and the house is being forclosed on. however, he is still ordering me to pay him eventhough he is not paying the bank. Question: Can he still do this? I stopped paying him, now he is canceling my contract? what can i do?

You should get yourself to a real estate attorney in your area. You will want to see how much he owes his lender, to see if it more or less than you owe him. If more, you have a serious problem. If less, then can you refinance and pay him off? You used the word "canceling" which has a particular meaning. If you have been served with a notice of cancellation you must get a court order stopping the cancellation.
