Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota

suspended license

I have Minnesota driving license and I got dui in South Dakota 3-4 months back. I didnt reinstate my license and couple of months back i was pulled over by a cop in minnesota and my driving license got suspended for no proof of insurance and they never asked me about my dui in SD. Is there any way that i can get my license back and get out of this whole mess without getting into some kind of big trouble?

Re: suspended license

There are a couple of things going on here. With the no insurance ticket, there might be a way to convince a prosecutor to give you a break on that and keep it from going on your record. Your prior driving record will be the key for that. For the DUI revocation, you really should hire an attorney to get that completely erased off your record. Because of some constitutional differences between MN and SD, there is a good chance that a knowledgable DWI attorney could get your MN revocation completely erased from your record. Time is running out for that process, so you should speak with an attorney about that ASAP.
