Can my former boss tell others I have filed bankruptcy?

Generally the fact that one has filed Bankruptcy is public information and could be published (told)by anyone. However, if he obtained this information from his capacity as your employer,you might have a cause of action against him. If this is a company large enough to have insurance to cover him in an action such as this then it is probably worth going to see an attorney about. If someone is willing to take this case, it would not cost you any money up front, they would take it on a percentage. If it is a one man operation, it is probably not worth spending time on.
