Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

Father never been involved

My son's father has never been involved and had never seen him until about 2 years ago. Now that the military is holding the child support he wants to see him. What is the likely hood that a judge will grant him visitation? The child is 8 YR old now.

Re: Father never been involved

Unless a father's parental rights are terminated, he has the right to visitation. However, because of the lack of prior contact, I would expect that the court would initially limit that right depending on what is perceived to be in the child's best interest.
