Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

can I be held in contempt or liable for a vehicle that I was made to keep in a no-fault divorce, but is in his name solely, if I stop making payments on it? He was supposed to sign the title over to me but he has not, I can't get rid of it because it is worth way less than is owed on it. I can't make the payments, he makes almost 25,000.00 more a year than I do but refuses to take it back. If I just park it at his house and stop paying for it will I be in contempt?

If your name is not on the contract to purchase the vehicle, I cannot see how you could be liable for the car payments. I would not park it at his house though. To know whether you would be in contempt, I would have to see all of the court's orders in your divorce.
