Legal Question in Personal Injury in Mississippi

How long?

What is the usual amount of time it takes for an attorney to find out how much liability insursance a person that is at fault has? More clearly, how long after the actual date of the auto-accident? I have heard many different answers and would like to know how long the law says. Thanks in advance!!!

Re: How long?

The law doesn't say. However, your attorney has an ethical obligation to pursue your case zealously. You need to arrange an appointment with your attorney to discuss your concern. It is not a good idea to ask others questions that should be directed to your attorney. Responses you get will be based on less information than your attorney has and will only serve to create friction between your attorney and you and will ultimately hurt your case.

Re: How long?

There is no statutory time limit on obtaining such information. However, there is a 3 year statute of limitations on filing a suit after the date of the accident.
