Medicare repayment

How can Medicare put a lein on an estate to get back money from hospital bills incurred by a receipent that died?

I am not aware of Medicare having a lien against a reciepient's property. Medicaid does. Generally, anyone who receives Medicaid assistance gives Medicaid a lien on their property. The probate attorney should contact Medicaid to get a release.
