Legal Question in Workers Comp in Mississippi

juristrictional issue

iam a full time employee of a trucking company.i was on a run in louisiana ,had to ajust wheels on trailer (bridge law),injured pulling pins to ajust trailer.my main office is in alabama ,i park and pick up my truck in mississippi and pick up pay check in mississippi but check is issued from a bank in alabama.my dispatchers are in mobile alabama.who would carry juristiction for the workmanscompensation claim?

Mississippi and Alabama would let you make claim under both states's laws. You don't get paid twice but you do get to use the better benefit under each state. For example, weekly benefits will be higher in Alabama. Louisianna is a land unto itself. I don't know what happens there but if it allows claims like Alabama and Mississippi then you may be able to cherry-pick in all three states. I'm only licensed in Alabama and Mississippi, so see if you can find a Louisianna lawyer, start with its Trial Lawyers Association in Baton Rouge.
