Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Missouri

My ex-spouxe filed bankruptcy am i liabkle for all of their debts

My ex-spouse filed bankruptcy, a few days before doing so she purchased a new ford explorer are therer any laws against this? also she had her other vehicle repossessed a few months ago now that she filed bankruptcy on it am i going to be liable to repay this debt?

I could not tell from your question whether you and your ex spouses' divorce is final. If the parties were still married when the debts were incurred then there may need to be a determination of whether the debts are considered marital or non-marital debts during the divorce proceeding and you should request that your spouse indemnify you from the debt incurred for the purchase of the car as part of the divorce settlement. Otherwise your spouse's filing for bankruptcy may only discharge her personal liability for the debt.

I recommend that you consult legal counsel immediatly if you have not already done so to protect your legal rights.
