A Satisfaction is filed once the debt is paid. If they paid the debt, they can demand a Satisfaction. Otherwise, a creditor can bring suit within ten years of the last payment. If this person has not paid (or promised in writing to pay) in the last ten years, the debt may be uncollectible. Such a person should consult directly with a crefitor's rights attorney in their area.

Good luck
