Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Missouri

I don't know who else to ask, or how. I'm Canadian, I have my work permit and my residency card is coming in the mail any day. I'm 19.

I met a guy when I was 17, he was 16. We never had sex in person, but yeah, we sexted or whatever it's called when he was 17 and I was 18. Anyways. He's 18 now, I'm 19. We love each other - want to get married.

His parents found out about us today and sent me this:

"This is now ***** father. **** was 16 at a time when you were 18, and based on the inappropriate interaction with a minor that you willfully engaged in, if you attempt to make contact by computer, phone, mail, or in person with ****, my wife, myself, or any member of our family or friends, I will turn this matter over to the civil authorities to file charges against you to the fullest extent of the law. This is effective as of 03/23/2011 @ 8:30pm CDT

Your final contact with us will be your response to this email with these two words:

"I understand"."

Can he do that? It was willing - my boyfriend would agree. I'm sorry if this doesnt make sense, I'm kind of freaked out right now. I dont know what to do. Thanks for any help you can give.

It does not appear that you ar ein danger of rape or sexual assaukt charges, based upon what you reproted. You may have an issue as to child pornography, if you sent or shared naked pictures of your "boyfriend" to other people. If he sent you pics and explicit verbage, and you responded, you probably engged in activity that was technically agaisnt the law. But, it seems unlikely that bsed upon your relative ages, that a prosecutor wopudl take up the case. But, this could alter your immigration status. You should consult with an immigration attorney soon.

Good luck
