Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My ex and I have an 11 year old and were never married. I am the custodial parent and mom sees him every other weekend and part of the summer. We have both moved out of the county where the original custody order was filed. She now is moving a few states away and wants to take our son with her for the summer. She has been increasingly unstable and I have said no to this request. Can she still take him? I want to file a temporary custody order so there is no way she can, but I don't know where. Do I file in the original county, or where I live now?

File where you live now. And the correct pleading to file is a petition for determination of paternity aka petition for determination of father-child relationship, which formally determines paternity and also custody, visitation, and support. Anticipate the necessity of hiring a lawyer. If you plan on tackling this yourself, plan on spending A LOT of time researching the issue.
