How old does a child have to be to say who he wants to live with like a grandparent

The law allows a child to say just about anything. But, the law does not give a child the right to determine with whom the child lives. Once the child reaches 18 the child can choose where he or she lives. Until then the issue is up to the parents or the Courtsor in some cases the Division of Family Services.
