Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Children going out of state on vacation

Can a parent (with joint legal/primary physical custody) stop me (joint legal/visitation rights) from letting my parents take the children out of state camping?

situation: this will be during a time the children are with me for summer break. They will not miss any weekend time with her. The children have gone to Denver,in the summer, with grand parents for at least last 6 years before divorce, usually for 2 weeks or more. There is nothing in custody or parenting plan denying or allowing this.

The only line in the parenting plan regarding relatives is ''The Parents should use their best efforts to insure that the children maintain a continuing relationship with their grandparents and other relatives.''

Re: Children going out of state on vacation

I know of no reason why the grandparents can not take the kids camping under the facts as you state them. If the other parent is taking that position, you should insist on seeing some legal authorization which pursuades you that the law is not on your side. I doubt that this will be forthcoming. If, in fact, you do need any legal services in these regards you may call me for a free telephone consultation at 314-727-2822.
