joint child custody

my son is 14 years old and i want to move to florida, and we have joint custody. do i have to have his fathers permission or the courts or permission at all to move down there with him. he has told his dad he wants to go with me.

Re: joint child custody

Your Decree of Dissolution, Declaration of Paternity, Separation Agreement, or other governing Court Order or legal document should contain specific terms which will answer your question. If not, the general rule in Missouri is that you are not allowed to remove your child from the state for more than 90 days without the prior written consent of the other parent or a Court Order.
