Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Can Ex Parte and Full Order of Protection be dropped????

My sister in law has filed an ex parte to my brother. At the ex parte hearing, a full order of protection was ordered to last for 6 months. Now they want to reconcile, but have been told they cannot see each other. Can a full order of protection be dropped before the six month period?

Re: Can Ex Parte and Full Order of Protection be dropped????

Common sense suggests that a person who sought and obtained an order of protection should be able to seek a termination of the order by the court so that a reconciliation would be possible. I would need to research the statute and case law on this point before providing legal advice, and I would be happy to do so for a modest fee. If you or your sister in law are not represented by legal counsel in this case you may call me for a free telephone consultation at 314-727-2822.
