Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I'm a single mother due December, the father of the child and I are separated and never married. I've been considering moving out of Missouri, can the father of my unborn child prevent me from leaving the state of Missouri before my child is born?

Sad comment on our society's values. You are asking if you can deny your child a father. And this after choosing to have that child with this man without marriage. I pity your child. I hope that you will reconsider your values with the best interests of your child in mind. The legal answer to your question depends on many facts which your question does not provide. But, what are you going to tell your child when that child is old enough to ask you, why don't I have a Daddy? Not to mention the fact that this child is entitled to support from both parents. Hire a lawyer, get a judicial determination of paternity if necessary, an Order for child support, and provisions for legal and physical custody. You will probably be able to relocate.
