Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

I have a child endangerment case, my first and I don't know what to do. Specifics are thus: I spanked my girlfriends child and social services was called from the school and the police showed up and issued me a ticket. I don't want this on my record nor how to handle it. What should I do?

Plead not guilty and get an attorney. You do not want a conviction for this on your record. Corporal punishment is not illegal per se; but it is a matter of degree. How hard did you spank the child? Hand only or did you use a belt, etc? Did you injure the child? Were there witnesses? Did you have permission to discipline the child? I would need more information. Feel free to contact me if you want to discuss this further.

As the other attorney has aready suggested, you need to hire an attorney to represent you on this "ticket". If you are in the Eastern part of the state, I might be able to help you myself. Please feel free to call me for a telephone consultation at no cost.
