Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

Recently competed in a skills-based contest for a small Missouri-based Association during their annual convention held in Oklahoma. After the winners were announced, it was discovered that the score sheets were mismatched during tabulation and the winners were incorrect. The Association agreed to recalculate the score sheets and assign new winners.

To put into perspective the circumstances, all competitors must pay a fee to join the Association plus a fee to compete in the contest. Winners receive trophies, medals and cash awards in addition to monetary scholarships to attend future industry-specific trade schools.

The Association refuses to publicly announce the new winners. Do I as a contestant have any right to know this information? If so, how may I obtain this information?

Based upon the facts you described, your question appears to be one of Oklahoma law. You might try posting, with an Oklahoma designation. You may be entitled to a list of winners, but the question is based upon federal or Oklahoma law, unless the contest was promoted in Missouri, in which case, the list might be obtained through the help of the Missouri Attorney General's office.

Good luck
