Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri

I am renting an apartment I signed a contract that states "The Renter will pay $450 dollars monthly for a 2 bedroom apartment when normally they are 600." The only reason I got this deal was because this was the only available apartment available. My contract recently expired without my notice and now the company expects me to pay 600 monthly even though I'm not using the 2 bedrooms. Is the company responsible to notify me about an expired contract, or can they even change my rent like that anyways, it just sounds illogical.

Unless the lease agreement says otherwise, you nor the landlord are required to tell the other that you are not willing to renew the lease at the same terms. Read you lease agreement. If it doesn't include an automatic renewal clause, you are probably obligated to pay the new amount, if you want to stay after expiration

Good luck
