Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

I live in a motel and my dog got out of the room and pottied in the hallway. I was not contacted at all and the hotel desk clerk gave a unregistered guest a master key to put my dog back in the room. A unregistered guest that is not permitted to be on the premises. I was also locked out of my room for 30 minutes until I paid 100$for him getting out even tho I cleaned up the mess and he didn't do any other damage or attack lunnge or try and bit anyone he just growled because he was scared and wanted back in my room. Is it legal to give a master key to a unregistered guest and Locke me out till I paid money without contacting me

The propriety of those actions are based a lot upon the lease or occupancy agreement you and the.motel have. It doesn't sound like the motel staff violated any criminal laws. But, you may have suffered some civil damages.

Good luck
