Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

My mom Separation from my stepfather 30 year ago.when her mother die in 2002 she left her property.then in 2006 her dad die and left her property.In 2007 she put all the property in my name. She die in 2008,in 2009 my stepfather is try to take it away from me he say because they never divorce it is his.Can I do anything to stop him.

You have not provided enough informtion for an attorney to be able to answer your question. If your step-father has hired an attonrey then you definitely need to hire one too. If your mother legally transferred property that she owned to you, then the fact that she was married to your step-father at the time should not make any difference. Normally, in such situations the title company involved with the closing of the real estate transfer will require a spouse (your step-father) to sign a marital waiver. Was that done in this case?
