Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

Seller's Disclosure

The property behind our house is for sale and is zoned light industrial. We know that a company(my Brother-in-law owns the company) is looking to purchase the land and is the process of having plans approved. We are currently under contract to sell our home and would like to know if we need to disclose this information to the buyer since it has not been approved etc.

Re: Seller's Disclosure

As far as I know, your duty to disclose information pertains to any information of any defects with your property. I do not believe the duty would extend to cover the possible development of adjoining land, especially where the zoning is public record. However, you should not rely upon this response as legal advice. You should consult with a local real estate attorney if you desire legal advise.
