Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

In September of 2013 I leased one of my duplexes to a tenant. During the first week of her living there I was there fixing various things in the unit. We became pretty friendly and on the fifth day I cheated on my girlfriend and slept with my tenant. My girlfriend and I worked things out and have stayed together. My girlfriend wants this tenant gone after her lease is up. What do I need to do to get the tenant out of the duplex and what legal actions could the tenant take against me? There was nothing exchanged and it was consensual sex between the tenant and I. She was aware I had a girlfriend as well.

Based upon the facts you described, you would would decline to renew the lease, as you would with a tenant yo had not slept with. The tenant may claim that you are refusing to relet to her based upon her gender. She might claim she was coerced to have sex with you, or make something else up. It is impossible to predict how creative this tenant or her attorney are.

Good luck
