Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

My wife an I own property jointly. My wife also owns property jointly with her mother. If my wife's mother has a car accident and is sued, does the plaintiff have access to my wife and my property?

In the hypothetical suit by the injured driver, the Plaintiff may get to your mother - in-law's interest in the property she owns with your wife. Unless you or your wife are at fault in the accident, there doesn't seem to be a basis for coming after you two. Different facts could mean a different liability assessment.
