Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Case Overview

As sad as it is, my husband has charges pending for spousal abuse and false imprisonment. This was a situation that just got out of hand. Afterwards, I'm sure as you have heard hundreds of times, but in the heat of that moment I did call 911 and it went from there. Is it possible to have these charges dropped? Neither of us have any sort of record. I'm 54 and he is 63. Could you try to give me a overview of what will happen?? Thanks so much.

Re: Case Overview

The District Attorney or City Attorney have a no drop policy. So if he believes he has a case he will proceed to subpoena you to testify as well as the police officers and any other witness. If you do not cooperate the Judge will allow the D.A. to use the 911 call and your prior statements through the officers as evidence. The minimum penalty is a fine, counseling once a week for 6 months and community service.
