Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Nevada

I had some damage to my rv due to electricians hooking up power wrong in an rv park, I have been paid by my insurance co for items in the rv at purchase but not for personal things, clocks, computer,rv battery ect. Can I collect the whole amount of all damages? Even the ones my insurance co pd for? I was told about the collateral source rule?

Thank-you

Rick Williams Law Offices of Frederick D. (Rick) Williams, Chtd.

You are legally entitled to collect the full measure of your damages, including those which have already been paid to you by your insurance company. Realize, however, that your insurer is then entitled to reimbursement of what it paid out on your claim. It would be inappropriate for you to "double dip" on your claim, and if you succeed in collecting from the responsible third party, your insurance company may wish to be repaid for the settlement they gave you.
