Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Nevada

Taxes?

My mom was involved in a medical malpractice. She had cancer/tumor in her ovaries, so her doctor went in to do a full historectamie. four years later she found out the full hysterectomy wasn't done so now she is getting a million dollar settlement. Does she have to pay taxes on that settlement and if so how much.

No taxes unless she is being paid part of it for keeping the settlement confidential.
