Is there a time limit to a petitioner collecting personal assets of value that are at the respondent's property following a finalized divorce?

In most of the cases I handle, we specify an amount of time that one party has to pick up personal possessions. Check your decree to see if there was a time mentioned. If not, you may petition the court for an order to fix an amount of time, after which the property would be considered as abandoned and you could dispose of it. I suggest that you not do anything to damage the items while in your possession and do not dispose of them without order of the court.
