I adopted my grandchildren years ago parental rights terminated. Got court papers yesterday to go to court today. How is this possible?

The bottom line is that anyone can file papers in court asking for any relief they want. Just because they ask for it, does not necessarily mean they are right or entitled to do so. Your inquiry was vague as to who filed the papers, what they are looking for and whether they are accusing you of doing anything wrong. If you would like assistance in defending yourself in court, please contact my office at 732-663-1500 to schedule an appointment.
